Hey everyone,
I've updated our server querying engine and we can now support many more games. Counter-Strike: Source, Day of Defeat: Source, and Left4Dead are all being updated with Live Stats, and we will be adding many more games.
We've also added more quick-connect buttons to each server list, now there's QTracker and HLSW buttons in addition to XFire. The HLSW buttons may not work quite yet, but the QTracker and XFire buttons do.
All of our servers (Crysis Wars excepted) are being updated every minute now instead of every 10 minutes as it was with the old engine, and we have support for more data too.
All-Seeing Eye has been removed from most areas of the site. We no longer support it. We are going to focus on QTracker and potentially our own in-house server browser. HLSW will also be supported to some extent.
Some ideas I have for the future:
- Player Search. If you have a buddy and aren't able to track him through QTracker or another buddy system then you can search for him right on the website, and then join the server he's playing on.
- Server Comments. If you want to leave feedback about a particular server, you will be able to do so directly from the server list.
- Ping servers. I am hoping to develop some kind of ping app that will be integrated with the servers page directly, and allow you to see the response time of each server. |

After quite a wait the main website has been adapted to work with our new forum software. You can now login and add servers again! For the time being you will be sent to the forums after logging in - simply come back to epcgaming.com to get back to the main site (this is being worked on, but it's 3am.. and I'm not about to tackle it now).
The stats shown on the main page are once again accurate, and the news is being pulled from the new forum.
Now that this is out of the way, I have added Call of Duty: World at War to the game list. Please start adding servers for this! If there is a problem with the server page not displaying stats, let me know!
Because of the sloppy coding of this website there are many bugs expected from these updates. Please post any that you find in this thread. Thanks.
Sometime in the near year you can look forward to a new and updated EPC! I was only in highschool when I programmed the site, and it was my first real PHP experience. A lot has changed since then |

| Is it me or my imagination? Seems like this Forum is losing momentum! Sad to say but all the hard work and effort the Admin/Sysops have put in I hope they do not lose the potency they had generated... I think the dB for games and submissions was the key to the Forum and WWWs success? I hope that the site is fully restored shortly and we can start adding our servers instead of all the info being splattered all over the place. |
